I just realized I got a little excited. I think the headaches have improved in the last nine months not the last two years. But I can highly recommend the app. I haven’t ever tried preventative meds but I’m interested to know how they work. I’m also getting to that lovely age so my hormones are kind of crazy and unpredictable.
Oh boy! I've tried everything and everyone's response to medication is so different.
My migraines have stumped my doctors, and have been difficult to treat. I suspect they have always been hormone-related. My current medications are daily amitriptyline and every other day Nurtec. I have to take preventives, so I don't typically take any rescue medications, but my rescue includes everything from Benadryl to indomethacin to Ubrelvy. I'm also on a combination of HRT, but that's also very specific to each person and so I had to do a trial and error until I found the right combo.
Do you have migraine with or without aura? If you have aura, there are a lot of different treatment options that could work for you that didn't work with me since I don't have aura.
I just saw this after many months! No aura. I think mine are hormone and stress related. They have improved in the last year or two. I realized that I needed some kind of mental reset like I needed to retrain my brain. I started using an a called curable. It helps you treat migraines like chronic pain and work out where they are coming from.
Fascinating! Thank you for sharing this. I suffer from anxiety and bad migraines. I’m interested to hear the details of your migraine cure.
