Love this post. I feel numb to the surveillance state but I suppose that’s what they want. Funny I know Substack is social media but doesn’t have the same brain warp on me like TikTok and the emotional damage as Instagram.

Thanks! Yeah the negative consequences to surveillance are not imminent and there are benefits, too which makes it so much more palatable or as you say, numb / indifferent.

Substack isn’t filled with brain rot yet, but I wonder what this place will look like in a year. I think it’s only a matter of time.

Especially when you add video - there's something with moving images and sounds that just feels worse than words and still images.
